Tempted but Fighting the 50 Shades Craze

I came across an incredible article this morning, and it has so much great insight and truth into why we need to keep fighting the temptation and curiosity to see and/or read “50 Shades of Grey.”

It was so encouraging for me to read.  It reminded me why I am fighting the temptation to watch/read it and so many other things.  Read this article!! >> 50 Shades of Lemonade

“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace.”

– 2 Timothy 1: 6-9

I have Christian friends who saw this movie. I was invited to go and almost did. A few years ago this type of movie would only be shown in an adults only theatre or found in some type of adult video store. I think the issue is we’ve become desensitized to the content in movies. A few years ago we see a movie and it has a great plot but there ends up being a love scene. A year or so later we see another promising movie but this time there’s two or three love scenes. It all leads to a greater acceptance of a movie such as 50 Shades.
